Chinese New Year Update
about 4 years ago – Tue, Feb 04, 2020 at 11:11:57 PM

Just a quick update to let everyone know the situation going on in China. The Chinese just finished up their New Year celebration. This is a celebration that all factories use to shutdown for two to three weeks. All the factories I’ve been in contact with were supposed to return to work this past Monday, however due to the virus spreading throughout China, the government has extended the shutdown period until February 10. This won’t effect our planned delivery date because I built in a buffer for any situations like this. Of course with the situation in China ongoing, one can’t predict if the shutdown will be extended further. The wooden boxes are already paid for. We just need to wait until they return to work to start manufacturing. As we wait for things to return to normal in China, I’m getting things finished up on my end. I’m working on the boarding passes, designing (and writing) the booklet and finishing up the last of the cards. I’m also getting the Backerkit ready to send out. I’ll send this out soon to ensure I have the correct numbers needed for fulfillment.

Quick Update from China
over 4 years ago – Mon, Jan 13, 2020 at 11:40:27 AM

I’ve toured three factories while here. I’ll give a more in-depth review and video once I get back home. I tried editing a video here but my phone and computer didn’t want to cooperate. Here’s a few photos of the factory and one photo from the top of Wutong Mountain. My legs still hurt from climbing that mountain. As soon as I get home, I’ll get a full sized update about my trip to China.

More Artwork and Secret Messages!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Jan 07, 2020 at 06:53:47 PM

Just a quick update before I head over to China in a few days. Here's a video that explains how I sometimes hide coded messages and stories within my artwork. I've done several decks of cards that act as a puzzle to form maps. I mainly do these hidden messages for shits and giggles. I just thought I would share with you this unique tidbit about some of my artwork.

Here's some more artwork for the Titanic Tarot deck. I'll be working on the remaining cards as I'm on my trip. I'll be visiting three printing factories in China. If you have any questions you want me to ask the factories, feel free to leave a comment down below.

Someone in the comments mentioned that they would see a person with African ancestry represented within the deck. Good new... I'll be having  Joseph Philippe Lemercier Laroche on one of the cards. He was one of only three passengers with African ancestry.  Before going down with the ship, he helped his pregnant French wife and two daughters in a lifeboat.

Happy Holidays and Thanks to All
over 4 years ago – Sun, Dec 29, 2019 at 11:17:18 AM

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone. I've been working on another video update but don't have it ready yet. I've been a little sick these past few days.

I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of you who helped make this deck happen. Last week I was a little worried because the funding hit a brick wall and started going backwards. A special thanks goes to James Bingaman and his wife, Christine, for making a Christmas miracle happen for all of us. It's because of their generous support that got our funding over the top (and also broke the 17k curse). For some reason the project stalled at 17k and wouldn't move.

But I owe all of you a huge debt of gratitude. I can't thank you all enough. All our backers have been very supportive with the survey, comments and messages. Backers like Phoenix Hilson, Silvia 'MoonCoach' Pancaro, Louisa, Poetry and many many others have been great support! Well, you all have... but I would be here all day naming everyone.

I'm hoping to have the video and some more artwork to post by this upcoming weekend. In a little over a week I'll take you guys with me on some factory tours.

Until then... Happy Holidays!!!
